Teaching grammar

Burkart, Grace Stovall. "Teaching Grammar." NCLRC. 1998. Web. 12 Jan. 2012. <http://www.nclrc.org/essentials/grammar/grindex.htm>.
What do you think is the best way of teaching grammar for the kinds of students that you are probably going to teach in classroom? Describe the students so I can understand your approach to teaching grammar.

When I was in school, my teacher was taught me grammar from rules. I was weak in grammar. Now I hope to be English teacher. I began wondering if grammar could be taught in way to teach my students in future. Then I found alternative of traditional way. In my essay, I will present to you some types of direct teaching of grammar.

If I am going to teach a children grade 1 or 2 and have different level abilities, I will teach them the indirect way.  It's more difficult than direct teach. As a teacher, I should teach grammar patiently. From my experience I discovered many kinds of direct teach. The best type is teaching children grammar through games. I think it is better to teach grammar for children without rules in the beginning because: Firstly, the students are active almost all the time so they like games. When they play and learn at the same time the knowledge of grammar will concentrate. Secondly, I will try to get them read as much as possible. Using the book box in the class will motivate them to read. The much they read, the much they learn grammar. Moreover, let them guess the rules. For example, I will write on the board a sentence and the students have to recognize the rule.  When they discover the grammar for themselves it means they are will learn. Repetition in some cases is very helpful. It helps to stick the rules in the students' minds. Also I can use stories to teach grammar. Children like mini stories so they will love to learn more about grammar as much as they love stories. In addition, the songs are good for children to learn grammar through it. They will save it and song it all the time even when they back to the home. So it is easy way to teach them grammar and get fun during the class time without feeling of boring. "( Burkart,1998)

Now what better way is there to teach grammar than that? For children it is by far the best way to go. Only excellent teachers have developed the skills to make the process seamless to the students and be creative.

CHOOSING A MAJOR

Many students get confused when they have to choose their major. Choosing a major is good opportunity for students to set their goals. Some people think that choosing a major after beginning college is good. However, choosing a major earlier is better because the student can get more information about their major and set their career goals.

Choosing a major earlier is better because students can to get more information about the major. For example, the student can ask people about their major and can and know and learn what are the requirements for the major. Moreover, the student might not know anything about the major that he could enter, and that could be a serious problem. Because he will not have enough time to decide. Therefore, he might follow his friends and this is a wrong way because certainly he will realize down the line that he doesn’t won’t to complete this major so he must have a background about the major that he will opt it .Get more information about the major is important before enter the college.

Another reason that choosing a major earlier is better to set  career goals. For instance, if the students don’t think about their career goals before they enter the university they will face a trouble and by this way they could not  be able to find a good job. The students have to choose the major earlier to set their career goals.

In the end, choosing a major earlier is better because in this way we will get more information about the major also to sets the goals. In my opinion, knowing what we want as a major before entering the university is the best way to not get confused and to be sure about what we choose. Otherwise, the students will still confused about choosing the major.

Self-cleaning Walls and Windows

The article “Self-Cleaning walls and windows” talks about how to clean the walls and windows without the interact of humans. The secret in this is the photocatylist, it is a substance that is activated by light energy and reacts with divots and release H2O and CO2.
In 2007 TOTO company starts selling a boasted photocatylist. When panting walls an undercoating substance then the pairing pigment and last the photoctylist substance. This substance is kept on the top to contact with dirts, and the top layer is a mixture of titanium oxide.
Painting two houses of this method is equivalent to 15 popular trees in purifying air, 13 million meter squares have been coated in Japan.
A bullet train company used this method to keep its windows clean for passengers to enjoy the outside scenery during their trip. Niobium is used as photocatylist instead of titanium oxide because titanium oxide reacts with sodium in the glass causing it to deteriorate.

Hedley's trip :)

Thirty years ago, Hedley, his elder daughter and his wife travelled on a trip to the Niah caves which are in East Malaysia. They set out in the morning and they arrived there at the sunset time. They went to Niah by car and stayed at a government rest house only for one night and before they went to sleep, they asked one of the men there to let them cross the river on his boat but it was too late and the man was going to bed. However, Hedley offered him some money and then the man accepted. They saw huge caves, there were men climbing the caves to drop down nests from the top of the caves. They were collecting those nests for some Chinese restaurants. They returned the next day. The bad thing that happened on the trip was that his car was damaged and he couldn’t put his car on reverse but, they had to get out of the car and push it if they wanted to reverse it. =)
